CFB: Nebraska to don '62 uniforms vs. La-Lafayette

Associated Press

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska will wear uniforms matching those worn by the 1962 Cornhuskers to help celebrate Memorial Stadium's 300th consecutive sellout Sept. 26 against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Nebraska's ongoing NCAA-record sellout streak started Nov. 3, 1962, against Missouri, the seventh game coached by Bob Devaney. The sellout streak now stands at 297 games, and every game in 2009 is expected to sell out.

The throwback uniforms, numbered 1 through 99, will be auctioned to the public as full sets on the athletic department Web site (www.huskers.com). Bidding, which opens in August, starts at $500.
