City begins delivery of new recycling carts today

The city began delivery of new carts today in preparation for the second phase of island-wide curbside recycling.

Residents in the following areas will receive green carts, which are for green waste such as grass and tree or hedge trimmings, during the specified dates.

— Waipio Gentry, Pearl City to Halawa (Today-March 16).

— Wahiawa, Whitmore, Waiakalani and Launani Valley (March 17-23).

— Kaneohe, Haiku, Ahuimanu and Kaneohe Bay Drive (March 24-April 3).

— Waimanalo (April 6-8).

Blue carts, for mixed recyclables such as newspapers and glass and plastic containers,

will be distributed to residents in the Waipio and Pearl City to Halawa areas April 9-24.
