Oahu wastewater spills down 20 percent in 2008, city says

Wastewater spills on Oahu declined for the second year in a row, the city's Department of Environmental Services said today.
The city said spills were down 20.8 percent in 2008 compared to 2007, with
117 reported incidents in 2008 compared to 144 in 2007.
Roots, grease, broken pipes, debris and wet weather caused most of the spills, the city said.
