KIPAHULU
Construction work will improve park facilities

Haleakala National Park will break ground Saturday on a construction project to improve facilities in the park's Kipahulu District.

The project will improve campgrounds and the supply of clean water and provide a new parking lot and restroom facilities. Construction is expected to be completed Sept. 1.

Park officials said the Kipahulu District, which includes the 'Ohe'o Pools, will remain open during construction.
