Free workshops guide students toward careers

Professionals from O'ahu's legal, medical, social services and education communities will conduct mentoring sessions with University of Hawai'i students in a workshop titled, "Where Do I Go From Here? Finding and Starting a Career."

The sessions are planned for tomorrow from 5 to 7:30 p.m., at the UH-Manoa Queen Lili'uokalani Center for Student Services, Rooms 411 and 412.

The event is an opportunity for students to connect with career professionals from the local community, including O'ahu's African-American community.

The Hawai'i Chapter of the Links Inc., is a nonprofit community service organization affiliated with the national Links, Incorporated. It is an organization of more than 10,000 professional women of color in 274 chapters located in 42 states and three countries.

The event is free and open to all students in the UH system. Refreshments will be served. To reserve a spot for the workshop, contact Professor Elisa White at 956-2824 or e-mail ejwhite@hawaii.edu.
