Blazers' Oden to miss a week with bone chip

Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden is expected to miss at least another week because of a bone chip in his left knee.

Oden's knee will be reevaluated in 7 to 10 days.

The 7-footer was hurt in a collision during a game at Golden State before the All-Star break. He missed the rookie challenge and seven games since.

The top pick in the 2007 draft sat out last season after microfracture surgery on his right knee. He missed six games early this season with a foot injury.

Oden has averaged nine points and just over seven rebounds in 39 games this season.

BUCKS

ACL SURGERY FOR REDD

Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd has had surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that he tore nearly six weeks ago.

Redd was averaging a team-high 21.2 points when he was hurt after he fell on teammate Luke Ridnour in a 106-104 win against Sacramento on Jan. 24.

Redd will begin rehabilitation immediately and should make a full recovery after six months. Redd is expected to be ready for the opening of training camp next season.

TIMBERWOLVES

EASING PAIN OF JOB LOSS

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a risk-free offer on season tickets for next season: Lose your job and you're off the hook.

The Wolves unveiled a new marketing plan yesterday that's keenly aware of the struggling economy and their own dwindling fan base.

They're lowering prices on 95 percent of season tickets in Target Center. The Wolves are also guaranteeing a refund of any unused season tickets to buyers who lose their job in 2009.
