Wave surges expected for Maui, Big Island harbors
Waters on the Windward sides of Maui and the Big Island could see moderate surges in harbors exposed to a north-northwest swell today, especially Hilo and Kahului harbors, according to the National Weather Service.
Large breaking waves and strong currents could also occur near harbor entrances through this afternoon, according to the weather service.
