Wind advisory in effect for Big Island summits

A wind advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. this morning as winds are blowing across Big Island summits at 25 to 35 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds are expected to diminish by mid-morning tomorrow.

A wind advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected, making it difficult for driving, especially for high-profile vehicles, the weather service said.
