Weather: Chance of thunderstorms through Saturday

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service says there is a slight chance of thunderstorms for most of the state through Saturday as the atmosphere becomes more unstable.

In the meantime, the trade winds will continue through the weekend and into next week, the weather service says. Today it will be mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly sunny. Scattered showers are predicted with daytime temperatures ranging from 73 to 79.

Moist clouds flowing over the summits of the Big Island produced some snow yesterday and there's still a potential for ice later in the week, the weather service said.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for the Big Island summits through 10 a.m.
