The Department of Land and Natural Resources' new Pohoiki concrete boat launch ramp, accessible ramp and loading dock is scheduled to open today.

Work on the improvements began in December. Wilson Okamoto Corp. designed the $965,000 project and Kaikor Construction was the contractor.

Still to be completed are a new rock revetment along the north side of the launch ramp and adjacent sloped area, and installation of rubber bumpers and other auxiliary work. Those tasks should be completed in May, DLNR said.
