'Hats off' for Red Cross weekend fundraiser

Advertiser staff

If you see people taking their hats off to salute the Red Cross Friday and Saturday, it's because they're looking for a donation.

The Hats Off fundraiser is an annual event for the Red Cross. Off-duty firefighters, military, community club members and other volunteers will be at various locations around the island, kicking off at 10:30 a.m. Friday with a four-hour event at Tamarind Park that will include information booths and a bake sale.

On Saturday, volunteers will be at 11 locations, including Wal-Mart stores at Keeamoku, Pearl City, Mililani and Kunia from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you can't find someone collecting donations, you can make a secure donation online at www.hawaiiredcross.org or call 739-8109.
