Island Air exchanging flights for Foodbank donations

Island Air is holding its 2nd Annual Cloud 9 Food Drive Saturday,, offering frequent flyer members the chance to exchange canned goods and groceries for mileage credit.

Cloud 9 frequent flier members can drop off donations at the Foodland in Pearl City from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The airline will give one bonus Cloud 9 point for every 10 pounds of food — up to a maximum of 9 points, the equivalent of a free one-way ticket.

The most wanted food items include canned meats and fish; canned spaghetti, chili and other meals; canned soups, vegetables and fruits. No unlabeled, dented or expired food will be accepted.
