HONOLULU
Journalists group offers job-survival seminar

The Hawai'i chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association next week will present a seminar, "A Layoff Survival Guide: How to Survive Shaky Times."

With newsrooms downsizing, participants can find out how to prepare if they're concerned about losing their job, they've received a pink slip or they just want to be ready for what's ahead. The panelists will address what employers are looking for, journalism-related jobs and job searching in a tough market.

The session is at 6 p.m. March 17 in the first-floor conference room of The Honolulu Advertiser at 605 Kapi'olani Blvd.
