Families can enjoy art together at two free events

Second Saturday and Third Sunday are back-to-back this weekend, meaning free family-friendly art events at the Hawaii State Art Museum and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

The Hawaii State Art museum will offer "Art at Play: Musical Pictures, Magical Sculptures, Singing and Telling Tales in the Galleries" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, featuring storyteller James McCarthy, crafts and activities. For more information, call 586-0900 or visit www.hawaii.gov/sfca.

On Sunday, admission is free at the Honolulu Academy of Arts for "Bank of Hawaii Family Sunday: Rhythm of Life." The event features music and dance performances that will help teach lessons about rhythm, as well as a scavenger hunt and other activities.
