Law enforcement sting of alleged human trafficking leads to arrest

A man was arrested for investigation of kidnapping, terroristic threatening and promoting prostitution for his role in what police believe to be human trafficking, police said.

Honolulu police, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Service, U.S. mmigrations and Naturalization, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the state Department of PUblic Safety conducted a human trafficking investigation at massage parlors in Honolulu from Feb. 18 to March 3, police said.

They arrested a 27 year old man today after a 24-year-old woman came forward and said she was coerced into working as a prostitute for the man who used a firearm to threaten her.

The victim was originally from the Mainland and was taken to a temporary shelter following the arrest.
