Hawaii weather: Scattered showers likely today

Mostly cloudy skies, locally brisk north winds and showers will spread southward across the state with a cold front today, the National Weather Service said.

A low-pressure area moving to just north of the islands will likely bring more unsettled weather to the state this weekend, forecasters said.

Here's what's in store for the next few days:

Today: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. North wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. North wind between 13 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 76. North wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. West wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
