City will hold memorial for Barbara Marshall

Advertiser Staff

The city will hold a memorial tribute on Monday, March 16, to the late council chair Barbara Marshall, Mayor Mufi Hannemann said today.

"We encourage the public to attend this special tribute to an outstanding public servant," Hannemann said in a statement. "I will be joined by many of her colleagues on the Council, as we bid aloha to a dear colleague and friend."

The service will be at 4:45 p.m. at the city's Mission Memorial Auditorium on the civic center grounds. Parking will be available in the civic center parking garage.

Marshall died late last month after a long battle with cancer. She was first elected to the City Council in 2002 and was reelected in November 2008.
