Maui's XTERRA on KITV tomorrow

An hour-long broadcast of the XTERRA World Championship, an internationally acclaimed off-road triathlon held annually in Maui, will air locally 2 p.m. Saturday on KITV.

The competition took place at the Maui Prince Hotel, Makena Resort Oct. 26, last year. The show tracked nearly 600 professional and amateur athletes (ages 15 to- 70) representing 25 countries and 35 states) who competed in a one-mile swim, a 20-mile mountain bike and 7-mile trail run.

Triathletes Ruben Ruzafa of Spain and Julie Dibens of England won the pro divisions and took home $25,000.
