The hot list

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Festival, today through Sunday, is in its 15th year of promoting ethnic harmony between the people of Hawai'i and the Pacific Rim region. This year's festivities are as big as ever as the city prepares to host visitors from all over the Pacific region for its weekend extravaganza of cultural events.

Returning for this year's fest is anime voice-over star and singer Momoi Halko, left, whose following in Japan, and among anime enthusiasts worldwide, is huge. Think Hannah Montana meets the Jonas Brothers.

Other festival highlights include the Obama Girls and Obama Boys hula halau from Obama, Japan (no presidential relation that we know of) and the Alaska Native Heritage Center Dancers.
