Seasiders will play Wednesday

Advertiser Staff

The NCAA Division II basketball tournament game between Brigham Young-Hawai'i and Cal Poly Pomona will be Wednesday night at Cannon Activities Center.

The Sweet 16 game was originally scheduled for tomorrow night, but Cal Poly encountered travel issues in getting out of Bellingham, Wash. On Saturday night, the Broncos beat Seattle Pacific, 80-72, in a West Regional semifinal.

Cal Poly (22-7) will arrive in Honolulu at noon today.

BYU-Hawai'i (27-1) beat visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills, 84-71, on Saturday night.

The West regional was the only one of eight that had four-team fields at two sites because of the cost of flying seven teams to Hawai'i.

No. 1 seed BYU-Hawai'i and No. 2 Western Washington (Bellingham) hosted games Friday and Saturday.

Those who purchased tickets in advance will have them honored Wednesday, or can receive a refund.
