A 25-year-old woman shot on a street in the Ewa by Gentry subdivision this afternoon has died, city emergency services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said.

Police said they are looking for the woman's ex-boyfriend for questioning. He was identified as Toi Albert Nofoa, 31, of Kalihi Valley.

Police already had an arrest warrant for Nofoa after he failed to appear at his March 5 trial in Circuit Court on charges of kidnapping and terroristic threatening, involving the woman who was shot today, police said.

The woman had a temporary restraining order against Nofoa.

Emergency medical personnel responded to a 2:23 p.m. call at the 91-300 block of Kaukolu Way, said Cheplic.

Police described the victim as a 25-year-old woman. Police Maj. Frank Fujii said she had been shot once in the head area and was taken in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center. She was pronounced dead several hours later.

A witness said a man rode up on a motorcycle, shot a woman and rode away.

Nofoa is described as 6-feet-2 and 250 pounds. He has numerous tattoos, including warrior tattoos on both upper arms; "Moni" and "Samoa" on his right and left triceps, respectively; "Daina" and "Saeu" on his right and left forearms, respectively; and "Nafoa" across his back.

Nofoa last year was charged with kidnapping and terroristic threatening in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend.

In that case, Nofoa allegedly forced a woman into an Isuzu Rodeo Sept. 11, 2008 in a parking lot at the Ko Olina Resort.

Nofoa allegedly drove to Hale'iwa and the woman was able to escape with help from people at a gas station.
