A memorial was set up today on the Ewa street where Royal Kaukani was shot to death yesterday.

The words "We Love U Royal" decorated a large frame that held 11 photos of her. She was smiling in every one.

The photos were accompanied by a bouquet of flowers, a small teddy bear, a stuffed red heart and a fuzzy green gecko.

It began to rain around 2:30 p.m., and family members came out of their home nearby on Kaukolu Place and placed plastic wrap to protect the photos.

The family said they were not ready to talk to the media.
