Small craft advisory issued

Advertiser Writer

The National Weather Service has issued a Small Craft Advisory for waters off all islands.

A strong high pressure to the northeast will generate sturdy tradewinds around the islands through the beginning of the week.

Waters affected include northwest and windward Kauai; windward Oahu and Maui; Maalaea Bay; and leeward and southeast Hawaii.

Channels under the advisory are Kauai, Pailolo and Alenuihaha.

The advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow.

A Small Craft Advisory means boaters can expect wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots and/or seas of 10 feet or greater that can result in hazardous conditions for small craft and inexperienced mariners.
