A benefit concert and a march against domestic violence are among the events being planned in memory of Royal Kaukani.

Kaukani, 25, was shot and killed last week as she sat in her sport utility vehicle on a street in an Ewa neighborhood. Her former boyfriend has been charged in her killing.

A family spokesman said a funeral service for Kaukani is tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 6, at New Hope Leeward.

A concert to benefit the Royal K. Kaukani Memorial Fund and Build Awareness Against Domestic Violence is being planned for Sunday, March 29. An earlier online post, using information provided by a family spokesman, said the event would be at the Makaha Resort, but a resort spokesman said no plans have been finalized.

It would run from noon to 10 p.m. and feature bands Koauka, Typical Hawaiians, Pohaku and others.

Tickets are expected to go for $10 presale and $15 at the door.

A march against domestic violence is planned for Tuesday, March 31, at the state Capitol.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
