HAWAIIAN TUG & BARGE

Hawaiian Tug & Barge/Young Brothers Limited has promoted Robert Seltmann Jr. to port captain and Michael MacDonald to harbor operations manager. Seltmann manages fleet operations, which includes crew scheduling, vessel budgets and operational performance.

QUEEN'S HEALTH SYSTEM

Queen's Health System has named Natalie Arrell director of fund development. She will direct the development and management of the Fund Development Program as well as plan and coordinate events for The Queen's Medical Center's 150th anniversary.

STANDARD PARKING CORP.

Standard Parking Corp., a national provider of parking management and ground transportation, has hired Jon Tavares as regional manager of Hawai'i-based operations. He was most recently provider services manager for UHA, a commercial health insurer.

HAWAIIAN BUILDING MAINTENANCE

Hawaiian Building Maintenance has promoted Jim Birchfield to executive director of engineering services. He will be responsible for overseeing and managing various projects as well as serving as chief engineer of Pacific Guardian Center and the historic Dillingham Transportation Building.

TRANSPAC INSURANCE SERVICES

Peter Junker has joined TransPac Insurance Services as vice president. He will develop and service new property and casualty insurance accounts and provide risk management consulting services to new and existing clients.

CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF KAUA'I

Trinette Kaui, broker-in-charge of A&B Properties on Kaua'i, was recently installed as the 51st president of the Contractors Association of Kaua'i. Installed as officers for 2009 were Keith Suga of Goodfellow Bros., first vice president; Matt Taba of Linthicum Custom Builders, second vice president; Diana Simao of American Savings Bank, secretary; and Dirk Apao of Finance Factors, treasurer. Maile Bryan of Martin A. Bryan Inc. is the immediate past president.

2009 directors are: Jesse Akagi, The Gas Company; Tom Arnott, Jas. W. Glover Ltd.; Michael Aki, Hawai'i Partition Systems; David Hinazumi, Grove Farm Co.; Travis Horka, Custom Landscaping; Jeff Mira, Justin Thain Construction; and Fred Pascual, Kaua'i Island Utility Cooperative.

HAWAII STATE BAR ASSOCIATION

Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert attorneys Greg Kugle, Mark Murakami and Courtney Kajikawa have been named 2009 section chairpersons of the Hawaii State Bar Association.

Kugle, a director of the firm, will chair the section on real property and financial services. Murakami, also a director, who heads the firm's maritime and aviation practice group, will co-chair the admiralty section, and Kajikawa, an associate, will head the probate and estate planning section.
