Small craft advisory issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Small Craft Advisory for all islands that will remain in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow.

A combination of strong trade winds and mixed swell is creating hazardous conditions for small vessels.

Areas affected are Kaua'i's northwest and windward waters, O'ahu and Kaua'i's windward sides, and the Big Island's leeward and southeast waters.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots and/or seas of 10 feet or greater are expected. Inexperienced mariners, especially small vessel operators, should avoid navigating in these conditions.
