KANE'OHE
Blaze causes damage to townhouse, neighbor's unit

A fire at a Kane'ohe townhouse left an estimated $200,000 in damage to the unit yesterday morning, said Capt. Earle Kealoha, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman.

Firefighters were called at 7:23 a.m. to 44-340 Olina St., where they found the second unit of a six-unit building on fire, Kealoha said.

The fire was under control by 7:31 a.m. and extinguished at 8:21 a.m. About 25 firefighters helped put out the fire.

No one was home at the time of the fire. Kealoha said a retired man lived there.

A second townhouse unit suffered an estimated $10,000 in smoke and water damage, he said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
