Proposals sought to benefit Kahuku

The Kahuku Community Fund is seeking projects to support and will give preference to proposals that address needs of or benefit the Kahuku community.

Any nonprofit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization, school, unit of government or neighborhood group is elegible to apply as long as their program or project benefits the Kahuku community from Turtle Bay to Malaekahana.

To be eligible for a grant of more than $5,000, groups must be a nonprofit or sponsored by one.

The fund is a component of the Hawai'i Community Foundation and was established by the Estate of James Campbell in 2005.

The Request for Proposal Guidelines can be downloaded from the Hawai'i Community Foundation's Web site at www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org or call its office at 537-6333.

Proposal must be postmarked by April 10.
