Passover seder planned for all April 9 in Waikiki

The Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-El will host the congregation's annual Second Night Passover Seder at 5:30 p.m. April 9 at Hale Koa Hotel.

Open to all, the event includes a "kosher for Passover" menu with a vegetarian option and the usual Passover traditions presided over by Rabbi Peter Schaktman and cantatorial soloist Ken Aronowitz. The Passover seder commemorates the Isrealites' escape from Egypt in the time of Moses and, by extension, the concept of freedom in all ages.

Tickets are $75 adults, $55 children, with discounts for Temple Emanu-El members of $55 for adults, $45 for children. Active military and family members pay $45.

Reservations: Required by April 6; call Alida Rutchick, 482-0092; e-mail alidarutchick@hawaii.rr.com or call Temple Emanu-El, 595-7521 or go to shaloha.com.
