Surf to rise today

Surf on O'ahu is rising today but is expected to reduce Friday through Saturday as a northwest swell declines.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for east facing shores, which will most likely see rough surfing condition, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf on the east facing shores will be rising to 7 to 9 feet through today.

North facing shores also will see rising surf to 10 to 14 feet.

The west coast surf will increase to 6 to 10 feet and south shore waves will be 1 to 3 feet today.

Surf heights are of the face or front of the waves. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the forecast.
