Ala Moana Center's spring fashion and shopping event is in full swing through Sunday. The second annual Shop a Le'a celebrates shopping with a myriad of activities related to fashion, health and beauty, active lifestyles, home decor, travel and cuisine. There are fashion shows, trunk shows, exclusive products, events at Centerstage, cooking demonstrations and plenty of center-wide gift-with-purchase incentives.

A benefit shopping party called Passport to Luxury takes place from 5:30 to 9 tonight, with entertainment, small bites, libations and special services at participating luxury boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Fendi, Jimmy Choo and many more. Tickets, $85, benefit the Hawai'i Theatre. For more information and to purchase a ticket, visit www.passporttoluxury.com. A sampling of raffle items includes Manolo Blahnik "Carolynne" slingback pumps from Neiman Marcus, a Louis Vuitton "Limelight" clutch and a Damiani white gold and diamond pendant.

MACY'S AND ANNE NAMBA

Honolulu fashion designer Anne Namba, asked to create costumes for "Madama Butterfly" at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland, was so inspired by the experience that she created a new line of ready-to-wear clothing for men and women called "The Butterfly Collection." Local folks can now see a collection of the costumes, and the clothing line, at Macy's Ala Moana. The costumes are on display through April 4 in the jewelry department, Level 2. There will be a fashion show of the Butterfly Collection from 1 to 2 p.m. April 4, on Level 3.

ON OUR RADAR – OBI, TRIPLE-BUCKLE BELTS THE HOT NEW ACCESSORIES

One of the hottest looks on the spring runways (especially Marc Jacobs') was the obi belt. It's a natural for Hawai'i, of course, with our affinity for Asian style.

Local designer Alfonsina Ladogana of Cirque Leather is right on trend with her hot pink obi belt, a style she named Cindy. Tie one on over a tunic, a maxi dress, jeans or a pencil skirt and it will give you a whole new look. We also love her current best- seller on the Mainland, Fergie — a triple-buckle style available in a plethora of colors, to dress up or down and wear with just about anything. These two styles are not available locally yet; watch for them at www.cirqueleather.com. Some Cirque Leather styles are sold at Bamboo Sky, The Butik, Fighting Eel and Pineapple County on O'ahu, and Nuage Bleu and Biasa Rose on Maui.
