NCAA: Connecticut's win costs Obama in NCAA bracket

Associated Press

Hasheem Thabeet and UConn dropped President Barack Obama into a low post.

Obama slipped in his NCAA tournament bracket Saturday when top-seeded Connecticut reached the Final Four, beating Missouri 82-75 to win the West Regional.

Obama sunk into the bottom half of the 5-plus million fans who entered ESPN.com's pool. He picked Pittsburgh to win the East in a later game.

The president already had picked Memphis to win the West, but the Tigers lost to Missouri in the semifinals.

Had Mizzou beaten UConn, it would've helped Obama — far fewer people picked the Tigers to make the Final Four. Now, he can only drop if the Huskies keep winning.

Obama picked North Carolina to beat Louisville for the national championship. He also had Pitt reaching the national semifinals.
