By TIMBERLY ROSS

OMAHA, Neb. — Nebraska football coach Bo Pelini has signed a contract extension that boosts his annual salary to $1.85 million.

The contract runs through February 2014 and makes him the sixth-highest paid coach in the Big 12.

When Pelini was hired to coach the Cornhuskers in 2007, his five-year contract called for a salary of $1.1 million a year.
