CHINATOWN
Examiner identifies man, 35, as Chinatown shooting fatality

A 35-year-old man who was gunned down early Saturday in Chinatown was identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner's office yesterday as Joseph Peneueta of Honolulu.

His official cause of death has not yet been released.

The shooting happened about 4:12 a.m. at the corner of Pauahi and River streets. Police say Peneueta was shot multiple times by two suspects, who used a shotgun and an assault rifle.

The two fled in a white sedan, which was driven by a third man.

Police are still looking for the suspects in the case.
