A police officer was injured this morning after he was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Lualualei Homestead Road and Ihuku Street in Waianae.

The officer, 38, was responding to a report of a domestic argument taking place inside the truck when the woman driving the truck apparently tried to run him down, police said.

Police said a woman turned herself in at the Waianae station about 9:20 a.m., where she was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and terroristic threatening.

Firefighters and city paramedics were sent to the scene about 8:45 a.m. in response to a report of an injured person at the corner of Farrington Highway and Lualualei Homestead Road.

A few minutes later, police issued an all points bulletin for a blue and red pickup truck. Police said the officer fired one shot, which they believe struck the fleeing truck.

According to initial reports, the officer's foot was run over, and he suffered scrapes and bruises to his ankle, shin and knee.
