Police seeking suspects in Pohoiki Beach Park robbery

Hawai'i County police are asking the public's help in identifying suspects in a robbery at Pohoiki Beach Park earlier this week.

Police said the incident took place about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said a man was riding a moped when he was assaulted and robbed by two men.

The robbers drove off in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Honda. It had large after-market chrome rims and a red interior.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call Lt. Mitchell Kanehailua at 961-2252 or the police non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
