Gas line punctured in Ewa

Advertiser Staff

A private contractor punctured a Gas Co. line near Fort Weaver Road in 'Ewa this morning and repairs could last until 5 p.m.

The line was punctured at 10:40 a.m.

"We don't see any danger to the public," Gas Co. spokeswoman Stephanie Ackerman said. "We don't think anyone is without gas, but there might be lower pressure in their lines because of the leak."

Repairs are scheduled to take until 4 or 5 p.m., Ackerman said.

The damaged line does not appear to be affecting residential or commercial customers, but they may have reduced pressure in their lines, Ackerman said.

"It doesn't appear to be affecting our commercial customers," she said. "They still should be able to cook."
