A bicyclist was critically injured today when he apparently collided with a motor vehicle on Kaukonahua Road near Hale'iwa.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition and has since been downgraded to critical, according to Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Bryan Cheplic.

The collision was reported at 1:20 p.m.
