Unbeaten Punahou No. 1 seed for state water polo

Defending state champion Punahou received the top seed for this week's Local Motion/Ha-wai'i High School Athletic Association Girls Water Polo State Championships.

Punahou (8-0), the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion, is seeded first, followed by O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion Roosevelt (14-0), Maui Interscholastic League champion Lahainaluna (8-0) and Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion Hilo (12-1). All four seeds receive first-round byes.

First-round play begins on Wednesday at the Veterans' Memorial Aquatic Center at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.
