Roderick Flemings was not able to complete the paperwork process for early entry into the 2009 NBA Draft, so he will complete his senior season at the University of Hawai'i.

In a statement released by the UH athletic department yesterday, Flemings is quoted as saying: "In an effort to be evaluated by NBA teams, I intended to submit my name for the 2009 NBA Draft. I expressed my intentions to the NBA in writing, however, the process was not completed and I will not be entering the draft this season. I will return for my senior year at UH to work on my game for the 2010 NBA Draft."

Flemings, a 6-foot-7 guard/forward, had until April 26 to complete the paperwork for official entry into the 2009 NBA Draft. Mark Broussard of the NBA league office confirmed on Monday that Flemings did not submit the necessary paperwork and thus was ineligible for the 2009 draft.

Flemings was the Most Outstanding Player for the Rainbow Warriors last season. He averaged 16.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and was a second-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection.

"We are pleased to have Roderick back for next season and I think he will benefit from an additional year of collegiate basketball," Hawai'i head coach Bob Nash said in a statement. "With a great season in 2009-10, he should improve his draft chances and the new Diamond Head Classic will also give him additional exposure. Academically, it will also keep him on track to graduate, and that pleases me the most."
