Tube Notes: 'The Fashion Show,' 'Grey's Anatomy'

TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"THE FASHION SHOW" DEBUT, 7 P.M., BRAVO

Now the fashion war heats up. "Project Runway" got tangled in a court case when it tried to leave Bravo. Its next season (already taped) finally reaches Lifetime on Aug. 20, 10 months after the previous one ended.

That delay gave Bravo lots of time to copy the format, which it did neatly. It hired smart co-hosts (Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland), created clever challenges and found 15 interesting contestants.

In the opener, some of them grab attention. Merlin, 38, is a Honduran native who studied architecture before becoming a self-taught (and self-named) fashion designer; he gets noticed quickly while wearing red, topped by a feather. Reco, 31, is a Chattanooga native who talks of 'hood influences and early experience designing for strippers. Kristin, 23, is married to a Chicago rocker and sports bright blonde hair with splashes of red. Daniella, 22, is a South African native who clashes instantly with Merlin.

Each gets lots of camera time tonight, which isn't always good; one of those four teeters toward extinction. It's a fun fashion-war start.

"GREY'S ANATOMY," 9 P.M., ABC

Next week is supposed to be the season-finale wedding of Meredith and Derek. Still, we're reminded tonight that festive days don't always turn out.

College students were heading to their graduation, when there was a car crash; now they've been rushed to the hospital. Izzie, who was planning the wedding while fighting cancer, faces the return of familiar symptoms.
