Wie plays in Michelob Ultra Open this week

 •  Can't image Hawaii without state champ

Punahou graduate Michelle Wie teed off at 2:32 a.m. (HST) today in the first round of the LPGA's final Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill's River Course in Williamsburg, Va. Wie begins at 6:10 a.m. tomorrow.

The Stanford sophomore finished 12th at Kingsmill in 2004.

The final three rounds will be shown on ESPN2.

Wie is currently 22nd on the money list with $142,756, and ranks second in the Rookie of the Year race, behind Jiyai Shin. She has also committed to play next week's Sybase Classic in New Jersey.
