Event will warn teens about dangers of driving drunk

Advertiser Staff

With graduation on its way, Hawai'i County's police and fire departments will join with the state Department of Education Friday for an event at Hilo High School warning students of the dangers of driving while drunk or on drugs.

"Shattered Dreams" will involve a traffic crash, including emergency response and the accident's effect on those involved.

Police will barricade Laimana Street in both directions between Waianuenue Avenue and Alae Street from 6 a.m. to noon. No parking will be allowed between those hours.
