Hawai'i's Nate Klein was named the Western Athletic Conference pitcher of the week, the conference office announced yesterday.

Klein, a junior from Goleta, Calif., yielded nine hits and five earned runs while striking out six in eight innings of a 10-5 victory over Fresno State.

San Jose State's Kyle Bellows was named hitter of the week.

Klein's victory in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader helped UH break a seven-game WAC losing streak. UH would win the second game and clinch a berth in the WAC Tournament that will be played at Les Murakami Stadium, May 21-24.
