Hawaii weather: Sunny today, clear tonight

A surface level high pressure ridge has settled just to the north of the islands, the National Weather Service said.

Trade winds will continue to weaken and then become variable Thursday through Saturday when the ridge moves over the state, forecasters said.
A front will move over Kauai on Sunday and may bring an increase in clouds and showers to the central islands by early Monday.

Here’s how the rest of the work week looks at this point:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 85. Northeast wind 7 to 14 mph becoming southeast. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. East wind between 6 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Thursday: Widespread haze after noon. Sunny, with a high near 83. East wind 6 to 10 mph becoming south.

Thursday Night: Widespread haze. Mostly clear, with a low around 69. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north.

Friday: Widespread haze. Sunny, with a high near 84. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming south.

Friday Night: Widespread haze. Mostly clear, with a low around 69. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming north.
