Robert Webber has resigned as president and chief executive officer of Maui Land & Pineapple Co. six months after being named to the post.

Webber was the company’s chief financial officer when the company announced last fall that he would replace David Cole at the helm of MLP. Webber assumed the post of president and CEO on Jan. 1.
“We have accomplished much in the past three years in a difficult external environment, and it has been a pleasure to serve with my colleagues at MLP and Kapalua,” Webber said today in prepared statement.
“As the company continues to restructure and cut costs, it is appropriate to streamline and clarify leadership, and the time is right for me to transition and pursue other opportunities.”
MLP Chairman Warren Haruki will serve as interim CEO while the company conducts a search for a permanent replacement for Webber.
