Nats starter Olsen has MRI on shoulder after loss

Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Nationals starter Scott Olsen has a possible shoulder injury, the latest setback for the worst pitching staff in the National League.

Olsen left Nationals Park to have an MRI exam on his throwing shoulder following Saturday’s 8-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in the first game of a doubleheader.
The left-hander allowed six runs and nine hits over five innings, dropping his record to 1-4 and increasing his ERA to 7.24.
Manager Manny Acta said Olsen complained of tightness in the shoulder after the game. Acta said Olsen kept the injury a secret because the team needed a lengthy outing to give the bullpen some rest following a 12-inning loss the night before.
