One person was stuck inside a tractor trailer and another person died from a crash involving the trailer on the west-bound, H-1 Freeway that forced the closure of the ‘Ewa off-ramp, Honolulu police said.

City paramedics pronounced a man in his 60s dead at 12:30 p.m., said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Emergency Services Department. An adolescent male was injured in the accident and was sent to a local trauma center in serious condition, Cheplic said.
The collision was reported just after noon today, said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Robert Main.
Cardboard pieces littered the grassy area of the off-ramp, which remained closed while investigators examined the wreckage to determine the cause.
Firefighters spread out absorbent material on the roadway from fuel that spilled, Main said.
