Cookin' it up a notch with Emeril at the Kahala

Details have been released about chef/TV star/cookbook writer Emeril Lagasse's previously announced appearance the Kahala Food and Wine Classic next month.
Lagasse, owner of 10 restaurants, including three in New Orleans, will open an 11th in Bethlehem, Penn., this week. He is the author of 13 cookbooks and a national TV personality.

Lagasse will host an "Essence of Emeril" opening night dinner on the Kahala o Ke Kai lawn featuring both Creole and Cajun cuisine and wines from Schrader cellars, 7 p.m. June 12; $250 per person.
He will offer a cooking demonstration at 1 1 a.m. June 13 in the Maile Ballroom featuring beignets ("French malassadas") and chicory coffee; $100 per person.
And he will design and preside over the menu for a "New" New Orleans Cuisine Dinner, 7 p.m. June 13 in the Maile Ballroom; $250 per person.
The two-day event also includes wine tastings and cigar education. Kamaaina room and event packages are being offered.
