There were few surprises in the announcement of the Fox 2009-2010 schedule made Monday: Big ratings draws like “Bones,” “24,” “House,” “American Idol” and “The Simpsons” will be back.

The network also is keeping its Saturday night reality package of “COPS” and “America’s Most Wanted.”
The closest thing to a surprise is that “Fringe” and “Dollhouse,” which have struggled in the ratings, will get a second season. “Dollhouse” will continue to air on Fridays. “Fringe” moves to the tough 9 p.m. time slot on Thursdays where it is expected to face “Grey’s Anatomy” and “CSI.”
Other shows returning include: “American Dad,” “Family Guy,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “House,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” “Lie To Me,” “So You Think You Can Dance” and “’Til Death.” New seasons for “American Idol” and “24” will begin in January. That’s also when the new show “Human Target” will debut.
As anticipated, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” was canceled, along with “Prison Break” and “Do Not Disturb.”
“King of the Hill” was canceled, but a final 13 episodes will air during the 2009-2010 season.
There is no word on the fate of “Moment of Truth,” “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” and “Don’t Forget the Lyrics.” All three shows are on the Fox schedule for this summer.
